Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation. The other two are Baptism and Eucharist. It is the sacrament that celebrates the presence of God’s special strength and gifts in a baptized person. Confirmation is important because it helps the person become a better Christian by bearing witness to the Lord and by growing in faith. It also helps a person meet the challenges in life with strength, wisdom, and courage given by the Holy Spirit.
In order to prepare for this special sacrament, there are certain requirements that must be fulfilled by the candidates. These include being an active practicing Catholic who attends Sunday Mass regularly and participating in a series of workshops, a retreat, and a rehearsal. If you believe that you or your child is eligible for confirmation please contact the Parish office at 304-342-8175.
